Warriors' Day Fund patron Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor said the move would be a symbol of respect and appreciation to all the sacrifices by the nation's warriors. "Veterans should be given priority, such as special lane when dealing at government offices, hospitals and the private sector, such as banks or airports.
"They need not have to queue and stand for hours to settle a certain matter," she said when speaking at the launching of the 2015 Warriors' Day Fund in Kuala Lumpur tonight.

She said the transport service should also give privileges to veterans, including discounts for air and bus tickets. Rosmah, who is the prime minister's wife, said the country needed to emulate the initiatives of developed countries such as the United States in the aspect of health, housing, community and employment needs for army veterans.

She said initiatives such as veteran entrepreneur, veteran home loan and others would make the country's veterans feel appreciated.

She also called on the Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association (PVATM) to be more creative and innovative in improving the livelihood of its members.  "PVATM should diversify their roles and duties with various creative initiatives as implemented in developed countries," she said. In this regard, she said the 2015 Warriors' Day Fund is targeting to collect RM5 million. – Bernama, August 1, 2015.

The legal firm representing the Prime Minister's wife, Messrs Noorhajran Mohd Noor in a press statement said the allegations were deemed damning and damaging to the reputation of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor (right). — AFP picKUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — A law firm acting for Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor today denied the allegations against her client in an article posted yesterday entitled 'Malaysian PM's Wife Seeks Central Bank Governors's Ouster' by John Berthelsen's.

The legal firm representing the Prime Minister's wife, Messrs Noorhajran Mohd Noor in a press statement said the allegations were deemed damning and damaging to the reputation of Rosmah.

"The insinuations and allegations are made with the intention to injure the reputation of Rosmah in her personal capacity and also as the wife to the Prime Minister.

"Words used by John in the aforementioned article are adversarial in nature, and those misinformed facts are highly skewered to connote and create a negative perception of Rosmah as the postings are in the public domain," the statement said.

The lawyer added that it implies by such words amongst others "... of Rosmah to drive out and have gone after the Governor of the Central Bank, indeed trying to get Zeti sacked, revenge, demanded, resign, dodgy transfers, Rosmah behind the dramatic move to shuffle disloyal cabinet out of government"..are malicious lies and fabrication of facts to defame and cause injury to the reputation of Rosmah.

"Rosmah has never demanded that Zeti find out who leaked the transaction within 72 hours or resign, as written by John.

"In the press release of July 10, issued by this firm on behalf of Rosmah, the word used is 'it is hoped' that Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to immediately and/or within 72 hours conduct a probe and issue its findings into the offensive unauthorised disclosure on the part of the said bank. There was no indication of going after the Governor in revenge for the leaks and/or demanding a resignation.

"The statement is absolutely incorrect, mischievous and malicious," the legal firm said.

Furthermore the statement said that Rosmah's request emanates from her concern for the improper and outright breach of the publication of her personal account to the public.

In her (Rosmah) view if no positive action is taken to probe into the breach of her account, the same can also happen to the account of other banking consumers and this may erode the trust of investors and consumers of financial institutions.

"In the circumstances, my client demands to John, to issue an unconditional and voluntary apology to Rosmah on all the allegations within the next 48 hours.  "In the right conscience of responsible journalism and reporting, some human decency must be observed, applied and taken into cognizance not to condemn and hold in contempt the right of others.

"With regard to responsible journalism, steps must be taken to verify the information published and the belief to be true as the result of reasonable investigation. To my knowledge there has been no investigation against my client.

"Should John find the justifications and basis from all the knowledgeable, well informed sources of Asia Sentinel, academicians and political analyst (as referred by him in his article) to be true; to surrender all information to the relevant authorities in the investigations within the next 48 hours.  "My client supports any lawful investigations by the relevant authorities in the matter. There must however not be a case of selective prosecution," they said. — Bernama
