Paras Bunyi Collective And Cubeart Stage & Performance Are All Set To Wow Audience At Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival 2016

Helmed by Faizal Nafis or better known in the local scene as Xes Xes Loveseat, Paras Bunyi Collective is set to deliver a multi-sensory experience to festivalgoers. A well-known DJ and vinyl collector, Faizal specializes in House, Indie-Dance and Disco; naming music icons such as Giorgio Moroder, Kraftwerk and LCD Soundsystem as some of his biggest influences.

Faizal has opened for international acts such as Aeroplane (Belgium, Eskimo), Andrew Butler of Hercules and Love Affair (NY, DFA), Breakbot (France, Ed Banger), Apparat (Berlin, Bpitch Control), Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs (US), Osunlade (US, Yoruba) and Wolfram (Austria, Gomma/Permanent Vacation) and was a regular guest DJ for the now defunct Deer Society nights. Besides the usual club fare, he has curated music for fashion labels and exhibitions.

Paras Bunyi Collective is a project especially created by Faizal for YSDF2016 and for this; he has rallied his friends, the experimental group Akhyla as collaborators. Check out his mixes at www.mixcloud.com/loveseat and vinyl collection at www.instagram.com/wishtone.

Bulan Separa Penuh is the winning pitch by CubeArt Stage & Performance, a group with members from Malaysia's leading performance arts school, Akademi Seni dan Warisan Malaysia (Aswara) previously known as Akademi Seni Kebangsaan (ASK). The theatre production tells the story of two people's dream to build a life in the performing arts but face strong objections from their families.

Featuring an ensemble cast of ten actors and four main leads, the production will combine dance, singing and acting to form a conceptual theatre that will captivate and provoke thoughts.

With Paras Bunyi Collective and Bulan Separa Penuh as part of this year's line-up, YSDAF2016 is set to become the 'must-attend' arts events of 2016. YSDAF2016 is open to the public and is free of charge.
